These frequencies help reduce stress, release emotional blockages and restore harmony in the body and mind. Meditation is a practice of focus that helps us to build our attention and cultivate awareness of the self. Regular meditation has been shown to help promote positive wellbeing and reduce stress.
Meditation has been used by many cultures worldwide for thousands of years to reach altered states of consciousness. When in an altered state of awareness humans can make changes to their inner world. This is then reflected into their outer world in the physical reality. Just a few minutes of focused attention can dramatically improve our day. When developed as a habit we can experience many long-term benefits such as:
It all starts with the breath.
Its first thing we do when were born and the last thing we do before we depart from the physical world.
We breathe in an out around 22,000 times per day, however most of this is done unconsciously. But, the way in which we breathe has a massive impact on our body and our nervous system. Many of us breathe in a way that is not conducive to positive mental and physical health. Through stress and anxiety our breathing becomes shallow, fast and often through the mouth. When done repeatedly over time this can cause damage to our body.
By learning to become conscious and to take control our breathing we can rapidly make changes to our health. Continuous breathwork can not only improve our health on a physical level, but it can help us release, work through and overcome; trapped emotions, negative energy and deep rooted trauma.

Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
In the 21st century we rarely ever feel discomfort, as our modern worlds are geared towards making us as comfortable as possible. However, feeling discomfort is in our DNA and without it there is no growth.
By intentionally exposing ourselves to cold water we challenge the mind and body to push through barriers and realise how strong we can be. This improves our mental resilience to stress overtime as we learn to remain calm in the cold, which helps in a lot of other situations in life.
Cold exposure is also a health practice that has been shown to improve circulation, immunefunction, metabolism and promotes positive mental health.

The retreats themselves are situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons in Wales or in the Scottish highlands of Dunkeld, so there is much to explore at either venue.
During the retreat we will be taking several walks, some of which will be very hilly, so its important to have adequate levels of fitness and clothing to protect from all weathers.

But, it’s in our nature to connect in person and it’s needed in our lives to feel good.
Sharing circles give everyone the opportunity to express, share and listen to others. These sessions will be of an evening in a yurt or sat around a campfire under the beautiful stars.
